Bio

Chiyana Simões is a programmer who moved to Barcelona from Braga, after living in Lubango, where he was born.

Chiyana studied Mathematics at several universities, including the University of Minho, where he acquired the skills, theory and techniques needed to work as a programmer.

After working for three and a half years as a Programmer and Development Manager at one of Barcelona’s most important innovation agencies, INUSUAL, where he helped develop various products and services, Chiyana now works independently, drawing on all the experience he has gained.

Chiyana believes in the power of technology. One of his main goals is to help organisations use technology to improve people’s lives.

Chiyana writes regularly about innovation and leadership on the inusual.com/blog.

In his free time, Chiyana is involved in altruistic activities, volunteering and leading various projects and non-governmental organisations in the province of Barcelona, such as Centre Euro Africa and Associação Maboque.
